Hey all,
So for those who were a part of the original RE:FE would remember that applying for a canon character was not allowed. What we did allow was for everyone to be able to use the canons, because they were present in the DOA world, by having their character(s) communicate with them for story purposes.
I was going to do this again but have come to the conclusion that we are going to try out canon applications. There are some strings attached though. Explanations below.
The reason why we didn't allow canons in the original was because we found that majority people who rp and like a canon don't know how to play as them. Majority of them would have their canon do something that was so against their character's style that it made little sense.
Example: Claire attacking someone and enjoying it. It's so out of her character to do something such as this.
Now, having that said I also realized that Resident Evil's characters are something special and it gets a bit boring when you want to rp with a character and find yourself in a thread all by yourself because you are adding a piece of the story that needs to be there for everything to make sense.
So your admin has figured something out!
RE:FE has been arranged so that canons are available to be played as but not from the very start. You are able to unlock them.
Whoever would like to play as a canon will first need an original character along with ten (10) posts that have been created in THE WORLD threads. Once that has been established, contact Admin and explain that you will be applying for a canon. Once that is done, register as that character and fill out an application.
Once you have been accepted you will be placed in the Alternate Universe to play as that character. The reason behind this is to show us that you know how to play as your canon. There will be flash back threads in the Alternate Universe as well as many others which could be used as an experimental playground for new canon character owners. It's possible you may only need to do one post for us to agree to let you post in the other forums.
Once you have proven that you can play said canon character you will be able to play as him/her wherever you would like!
Please Note: You must continue to play as your original character on a normal basis to keep your privledge of owning a canon character. If the owner of a canon decides to ignore their original, their canon will be removed. One must have an original for their canon.
For canons who are not being used, everyone should feel free to use them as for story telling purposes. There will be no need to apply for them if you will only be using them for a post or two. If said canon is not applied for, any member may use them in a post.
